The Municipality of Lignano Sabbiadoro and APE FVG, the Energy Agency of Friuli Venezia Giulia, present the first edition of Lignano 180°, the Sustainability Festival taking place on June 13–14, 2025, at Parco UNICEF. Two days of talks and workshops with international experts, architects, urban planners, and environmentalists will showcase the actions Lignano is taking to concretely respond to climate change and its impact on our way of life and the city’s ecosystem.
Why Lignano 180°?
180° is not just a number—it’s a direction, a course we want to follow, and an invitation to broaden our perspective, to look beyond narrow horizons and think with a wider, more open mindset. It’s a point of view that can help us face today’s challenges with innovative and bold solutions, and to look to the future knowing that every action matters.
The city and its transformation process
Lignano Sabbiadoro is an ideal laboratory for urban and architectural experimentation, thanks to its origins as a planned city. The Marcello D’Olivo masterplan for Lignano Pineta and Luigi Piccinato’s plan for Lignano Riviera are milestones in the area’s development and sources of inspiration for new planning solutions. Today, Lignano Sabbiadoro is a real ecosystem made up of complex relationships between human and natural elements. Our behavior changes the places we live in—and those places, in turn, change how we live on this planet.
The way we live and the space we inhabit are the two core themes the Festival invites experts, citizens, and tourists to explore—using Lignano Sabbiadoro as a case study. Lignano 180° is a moment of reflection on how to design and build a more sustainable, resilient city, and an opportunity to listen, share, and co-create a future that respects our environment.
