Excursion Lignano-Grado by bike and boat

A unique experience discovering the Grado lagoon and the hidden gems of the Low Friuli region: Aquileia, Strassoldo, and Torviscosa. For the 2026 summer season, the excursion offers two different departure times with slight variations in the itinerary.

EXCURSION 1 - LIGNANO-GRADO-MARANO-LIGNANO - 7:30 AM

Departure is scheduled for 7:30 AM from the Lignano Sabbiadoro Bike Point, then continuing to the Darsena Porto Vecchio in Lignano Sabbiadoro where you can board the TPL FVG ferry to Grado.

Once disembarked in Grado, you can visit this splendid seaside resort, admiring the historical and architectural views it offers.

You can then continue by bicycle to Marano Lagunare, passing through locations in Friuli Venezia Giulia famous for their history: Aquileia, an important city of the Roman era, and Torviscosa with its early 20th-century architecture.

In Marano, a boat is available for cyclists to take you back to the Darsena Porto Vecchio in Lignano Sabbiadoro. Return is scheduled approximately for 5:00 PM.

EXCURSION 2 - LIGNANO-MARANO-GRADO-LIGNANO - 9:30 AM

Departure is scheduled for 9:30 AM from the Lignano Sabbiadoro Bike Point, then continuing to the Darsena Porto Vecchio in Lignano Sabbiadoro where you can board the TPL FVG ferry to Marano Lagunare.

Once disembarked, you can visit the historic lagoon town and, through lowland forests and reclaimed lands, arrive in Torviscosa.

From the foundation city, you cycle to the Roman city of Aquileia. From the mainland, you will ride along the cycle path suspended over the lagoon to finally arrive in Grado. From the pier in Grado, a boat is available for cyclists to lead them by sea back to the Darsena Porto Vecchio in Lignano Sabbiadoro. Return is scheduled approximately for 7:00 PM.

Both routes have a length of about 55 km.

It is recommended to wear appropriate clothing.

Boat trips must be paid directly to the service provider. Lunch is at the discretion and expense of the participants.
