Pupi & Pini: Pu-pazzi d’amore

“Pupi & Pini” returns to Lignano in 2025 – the street and puppet theatre festival dedicated to families.
All shows are designed for a family audience. The common thread of the festival is the close connection between children’s literature and live performance, with many artists celebrated for their skill and creativity in scenic arts. The programme ranges from traditional oral tales to classic fairy tales, novels, and contemporary children’s stories.

The first event takes place on Wednesday, July 2 at 9:30 PM in Piazza del Sole in Lignano Pineta with Pu-pazzi d’amore – a street and puppet theatre show (featuring string marionettes, hand puppets, figures, and mechanical sets).

Tragicomic love stories told in pastel tones, with the innocence and lightness typical of inanimate objects.
Marionettes, puppets, and figures bring surreal, funny, grotesque, and sometimes poetic scenes to life… amid blooming and transformation, toward the awareness that nothing is created, nothing is destroyed, but everything transforms.
What can we do? Perhaps the secret is not to chase butterflies, but to tend the garden so they come to us.

The festival is organised by the Municipality of Lignano Sabbiadoro in collaboration with the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and the Lignano Sabbiadoro Library. Artistic direction by Teatro del Drago (Ravenna).
