Pupi & Pini: Il principe ranocchio

“Pupi & Pini” returns to Lignano in 2026 – the street and puppet theatre festival dedicated to families.
All shows are designed for a family audience. The common thread of the festival is the close connection between children’s literature and live performance, with many artists celebrated for their skill and creativity in scenic arts. The programme ranges from traditional oral tales to classic fairy tales, novels, and contemporary children’s stories.

Monday, August 31st at 9:00 PM in Hemingway Park in Lignano Pineta with "The Frog Prince," a street and puppet theater show by the Amaltheatro Company. A sleepy king and a princess are disturbed by the arrival of a clumsy frog at their castle. To complicate matters further, a witch disguised as a butler steps in. Will the charming Frog succeed in winning over the young princess? Who else can he turn to for help if not his puppeteer friend? A modern-comic reinterpretation of the famous Brothers Grimm fairy tale.

Admission is free.

The festival is organised by the Municipality of Lignano Sabbiadoro in collaboration with the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and the Lignano Sabbiadoro Library. Artistic direction by Ortoteatro società cooperativa Pordenone.
