Pupi & Pini: il gatto con gli stivali

“Pupi & Pini” returns to Lignano in 2026 – the street and puppet theatre festival dedicated to families.
All shows are designed for a family audience. The common thread of the festival is the close connection between children’s literature and live performance, with many artists celebrated for their skill and creativity in scenic arts. The programme ranges from traditional oral tales to classic fairy tales, novels, and contemporary children’s stories.

On Monday, August 17th, at 9:00 PM, Hemingway Park in Lignano Pineta will host "Puss in Boots," a street and puppet theater show by Bottega Buffa CircoVacanti. A cold and hungry farmhand wanders around the edge of the dark woods. His father has just died and left him... a cat.

-A cat? Is he crazy? What do I do with a cat?

-But that cat talks, and it's not just any cat. In fact, the first thing he does is ask Costantino to give him his boots.

-Boots? To a cat? Are you crazy?

-But the farmhand Costantino, perhaps understanding or not, obliges by giving him the boots, also placing his fortune in the cat's paws (and he won't regret it).

Admission is free.

The festival is organised by the Municipality of Lignano Sabbiadoro in collaboration with the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and the Lignano Sabbiadoro Library. Artistic direction by Ortoteatro Società cooperativa Pordenone.
