On Tuesday, July 28, at 5.00 pm the interactive exhibition "On Vacation with Attilio" will be inaugurated at the Municipal Library of Lignano Sabbiadoro.
The exhibition was created and curated by Alessandra Cassinelli, daughter of the famous illustrator, in collaboration with the Municipal Library of Lignano Sabbiadoro. It is a journey into Attilio’s vibrant and colorful world: large images and child-sized cutouts transform the space into an open, playful book where stories come to life.
Designed primarily for children, this project is open to visitors of all ages and backgrounds. Particular emphasis is placed on nature: the sea, the forest, the meadow, and various animals are depicted in crisp, bright blocks of color, inviting everyone to love and protect them. Caring for the natural environment, protecting trees, and respecting the land and water have always been essential values for Attilio.
The exhibition also features several characters drawn from traditional fairy tales and classic children's literature. Among them, a special section is dedicated to Pinocchio—one of his most beloved characters—marking the bicentennial of Carlo Collodi's birth.
Alessandra Cassinelli, the illustrator’s daughter and creator and curator of the exhibition, will attend the opening to guide visitors through Attilio’s visual universe.
The exhibition is supported by the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
