On Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 6:00 PM, at the Civic Library, the Municipality of Lignano Sabbiadoro will host the presentation of the book “Effetto Topofilia. How Places Affect Us”, written by historian and researcher Dr. Roberta Rio, an Austrian of Italian origin, internationally recognized for her expertise on human-place interactions (Genius Loci).
During the event, the author will explain how the places where we live, work, or spend our time can directly – and often unconsciously – influence our personality, well-being, and even our destiny.
About the author
Dr. Roberta Rio developed the Effetto Topofilia® method, recognized as scientific by the University of Glasgow in 2011. An internationally renowned expert, she provides consultancy across Europe on urban development, conscious tourism, ecovillages, cohousing, and cultural heritage enhancement, safeguarding the identity of places and historical landscapes. She is the author of numerous articles and books, including the international bestseller Effetto Topofilia, and also produces documentaries and educational programs for the public.
