The cultural association "Lignano nel terzo millennio" is organizing the 25th edition of the Creative Writing Workshop, taking place from Monday, July 28 to Friday, August 1, 2025, at Hotel President Lignano in Lignano Sabbiadoro.
The workshop is designed for those who want to deepen their literary skills and refine their storytelling abilities through lessons led by well-known writers and journalists. The writing school is made possible thanks to the support of the Municipality of Lignano Sabbiadoro, the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, the Cividale Bank, and many local tourism operators. These institutions and companies also support the long-running cultural event “Meet the Author and the Wine,” now in its 27th edition.
Courses take place in the mornings from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM and consist of lectures and seminars by notable professionals in the field.

- Tuesday, July 29 – Martina Delpiccolo: Friuli Venezia Giulia as a Storytelling Lab
- Wednesday, July 30 – Laura Pagliara: Writing Tips from Russian Literature
- Thursday, July 31 – Michela Fregona: Reimagining Myths
- Friday, August 1 – Roberto Cescon: Hearing the Voice of the Text
Under the guidance of writer and coordinator Alberto Garlini, the goal of the workshop is to train participants and support the creation of a collection of short stories set in Lignano. The best entries will be included in the book Lignano: Let Me Tell You – 2026 Edition, to be published by La Nuova Base in spring 2026. Selected authors will also present their stories at one of the 2026 summer editions of “Meet the Author and the Wine.”
Participants may submit their manuscripts by March 2026 to the association's office.
