A journey through 1920s Friuli exploring love, courage, and women's emancipation: Lignano Sabbiadoro hosts the first preview event of pordenonelegge 2026.
At 9.00 PM at the Municipal Library of Lignano Sabbiadoro, author Giulia Dal Mas will present her latest novel, "Il canto delle filatrici", in conversation with writer and festival curator Alberto Garlini.
The book: Set against the backdrop of the rise of Fascism and the impending shadow of war, the novel tells the story of the three Santarossa sisters — Iolanda, Adelina, and Nella — who grew up working in the silk mill of Maniago. Bound by love, family ties, and the pursuit of redemption that will take them to Venice and Turin, their lives intertwine in a powerful tale of resistance and hope.
