“Pupi & Pini” returns to Lignano in 2025 – the street and puppet theatre festival dedicated to families.
All shows are designed for a family audience. The common thread of the festival is the close connection between children’s literature and live performance, with many artists celebrated for their skill and creativity in scenic arts. The programme ranges from traditional oral tales to classic fairy tales, novels, and contemporary children’s stories.
On Wednesday, July 30, at Parco Hemingway, the company Dëkk bu kënn dull dëwee presents "The Land Where No One Ever Dies", a physical and narrative theatre performance.
With: Alice Cottifogli, Fallou Diop, Moussa N’Diaye, Adama Gueye
Directed by: Alessandro Argnani, Damiano Grasselli
Co-production: Albe/Ravenna Teatro – Teatro Caverna – Ker Théâtre Mandiaye N’Diaye
In this Afro-Italian hybrid production, the story follows a young “tubab” (a Senegalese term for white people) who refuses to accept death and sets off on a journey to the land that gives the tale its title.
During her voyage, she meets strange wise figures who, between moments of light-hearted humor and melancholic poetry, offer her various paths to longevity. These sages come from “another world”: Africa, but also the “Beyond”, as every proper tale takes place in the time of dreams — a bridge between the world and its stories. Because the fear that binds us all is the same: the one we often cannot even name.
