Pupi & Pini: Alì Babà e i 40 ladroni

“Pupi & Pini” returns in 2025, the street and puppet theatre festival dedicated to families. All shows are aimed at a family audience. The common thread of the festival is the strong link between children's literature and live performance, with many artists known for their talent and professionalism in the scenic arts, from traditional oral tales to novels, classic fairy tales to contemporary texts.

On Monday, July 21 at Parco Hemingway, the Teatro dell’Erba Matta presents "Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves", a live-actor and puppet theatre show by and with Daniele Debernardi.

Based on the book “One Thousand and One Nights”, this is the tale of Ali Baba, a humble woodcutter blessed by fortune, his greedy and wealthy brother Cassim, and Mustafà, the bungling leader of forty thieves who guards a hidden treasure in a cave.
Only the magic words “Open Sesame” can unlock the entrance to the loot.

A famous and entertaining fairy tale that draws the audience into an enchanted world of Eastern charm, where the actor brings to life giant character figures, just like in a cartoon.

The show starts at 9:30 PM.

Event organized by the Municipality of Lignano Sabbiadoro in collaboration with the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, the Spiaggia Viva Cuore Consortium and the Library of Lignano Sabbiadoro. Artistic direction of the Teatro del Drago in Ravenna.
