Notti di Mezza Estate: Everything you ever wanted to know about love

"Notti di Mezza Estate" is a festival that blends words, music, and theatre under the stars, on two “stages of emotions and beauty”: the park of the Church of Santa Maria del Mare and the garden of the Church of San Zaccaria.

The fifth edition of the festival, under the artistic direction of Mario Brandolin, follows an artistic path dedicated to the most universal feeling: love. From famous letters to literary tales, theatrical recitals to concerts featuring tango, jazz, and film scores – each event explores a different shade of love: passionate, ironic, romantic, or disillusioned.
Alongside acclaimed actors, writers and artists, the festival also features the Filarmonici Friulani Youth Orchestra, through ensemble concerts and musical readings.

Notti di Mezza Estate is a project of the Municipality of Lignano Sabbiadoro and the Filarmonici Friulani Youth Orchestra.

The third event of Notti di Mezza Estate, “Everything you wanted to know about… love, and never dared to read”, will take place on Tuesday, July 29, at 9:00 PM at the Church of San Zaccaria in Lignano Sabbiadoro, featuring Massimo Somaglino, with musical interludes by Mattia Tomat (saxophone).

Winking at Woody Allen's small masterpiece Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex..., this intelligent and demystifying foray into what may be the last taboo of our time becomes, in Somaglino’s recital, an equally ironic and irreverent journey into the theme of love.
Drawing from pages, passages and poems by authors, writers, and poets from all times and places, this anthology-style narration focuses especially on passion – not only in the erotic sense, but as a wider pursuit of fulfillment, self-expression, and the aspiration to that which makes life beautiful: happiness.

In case of rain, the event will be held at the Municipal Library.
