Midsummer Nights is a cultural series that weaves together words, music, and theatre under the stars, in two “stages of emotion and beauty”: the park of the Church of Santa Maria del Mare and the garden of the Church of San Zaccaria.
The fifth edition of the series, under the artistic direction of Mario Brandolin, explores the most universal feeling: love. From famous letters to literary tales, from theatrical recitals to concerts featuring tango, jazz, and film scores, each event presents a different shade of love: passionate, ironic, romantic, disillusioned.
Alongside renowned actors, writers and artists, the Youth Orchestra Filarmonici Friulani plays a leading role in the series, with musical readings and ensemble performances.
Midsummer Nights is a project by the Municipality of Lignano Sabbiadoro and the Youth Orchestra Filarmonici Friulani.
All events start at 9:00 PM.

The fourth event of the series, “Pages of Tango” with Daniele di Bonaventura on bandoneon, will take place on Wednesday, August 6th at 9:00 PM at the Church of Santa Maria del Mare.
A musical journey through the most iconic Argentine tangos, from the historical pioneer Carlos Gardel, who laid the foundations of tradition, to the genius of Astor Piazzolla, who layered complex harmonies and jazz rhythms over this legacy to create the language of nuevo tango. The concert concludes with a suite by Daniele di Bonaventura, showcasing the melodic and timbral possibilities of the bandoneon.
Cancelled in case of rain.
