Lignano and Pordenone joined by bicycles

Bringing tourists, Italians and foreigners, to discover Pordenone and the Pordenone area by bicycle. This is the objective of the experimental cycling project, launched in the summer of 2021, on the basis of the protocol signed by the Municipalities of Pordenone and Lignano, aimed at mutual promotion in the tourism sector.

"If speaking of tourism for Lignano is natural - says Pordenone councilor Guglielmina Cucci - for Pordenone it is a question of raising the bar along a targeted path that presents it as the ideal destination for slow, sustainable and experiential tourism. From ours we have the potential of a territory rich in cultural, landscape and food and wine beauties, little known by mass tourism and therefore a source even more of discovery, surprise and emotion, on the other hand we have the invaluable collaboration of a highly experienced technical partner such as Lignano Sabbiadoro Gestioni SpA and the collaboration of the Fiab Aruotalibera association ”.

It is important to communicate that Lignano is not just a place of relaxation, well-being and entertainment in its own right, but is inserted and linked to a territory that has so much to offer. It is therefore really a mutual enrichment. "

The Municipalities of Caneva, Polcenigo, Spilimbergo, Cordenons participate in the project.

A dozen routes have been identified, brought to the attention of the public through printed material and published on the web with convenient GPS tracks to be followed via the app even from the phone, which cyclists can choose and travel independently.

Among them, 4 have been inserted in rotation a calendar of guided tours, on a weekly basis during the summer months (June, July, August) which will lead to Pordenone and surroundings - upon registration and reservation - small groups of tourists, who will be able to take advantage of this service for free.

Lignano Sabbiadoro Gestioni provides participants with the transfer from Lignano to Pordenone (and back) and the use of an electric bicycle.

Participation is also open to Pordenone people or inhabitants of the neighboring areas, with their own bicycles, who want to join the group departing from Pordenone.

The routes - elaborated by Fiab Aruotalibera - are designed to make known the variety and richness of the Pordenone area starting from its capital, which therefore becomes its ambassador. They are easy or medium and difficult. Only one route, which leads to Piancavallo along the new cycle path of the Venice of the snows, is classified as difficult.
