The cycle paths of Lignano are just a click away with Google Maps
Lignano Sabbiadoro continues its race to become an increasingly green and sustainable destination.
In the wake of the numerous initiatives undertaken in favor of cycle tourism - just to name a few, from the full program of bicycle excursions to bike sharing - now Lignano also arrives on Google Maps with an innovative (and exclusive) service for tracking cycle paths.
In fact, at the end of 2020 Google Maps has included the "bike" option (already present in other countries but up to now never released in the Italian version) which suggests to users the best route to take on two wheels.
75 km of cycle paths just a click away
Lignano Sabbiadoro, among the first destinations in Italy, has provided, thanks to the collaboration with MAP360, Google Maps certified professionals, to the mapping of 75 km of cycle paths in the town as well as itineraries and roads suitable for cyclists in Lignano Sabbiadoro and its hinterland up to Aprilia Marittima and Latisana. The same X River, the cycle-pedestrian connection by boat that connects Lignano Sabbiadoro and Bibione, was included in the project.
In addition to this, 15 km of cycle paths have been traced through Street View that can now be "virtually navigated" thanks to 360 ° photographs that offer the opportunity to travel from home to some of the most beautiful cycle paths of Lignano Sabbiadoro such as the entire promenade from Sabbiadoro to Riviera, the Lungolaguna and the paths that run along the mouth of the Tagliamento River.
Finally, thanks to the initiative of numerous beach concessionaires, the accesses to the sea have been traced with 360 ° photos, which can also be navigated via Street View. Now it is therefore possible to walk up to the shoreline - albeit virtually - in the main beach offices of Sabbiadoro, Pineta and Riviera.
10 thousand healthy steps
A space have also found the pedestrian routes: they are also inserted 22 km of walking trails that are part project “FVG IN MOVIMENTO. 10mila passi di Salute”. The project supported by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, by the Municipality of Lignano Sabbiadoro and by regional bodies in the health sector and included in the INTERREG Italy-Croatia cooperation calls is aimed at promoting slow mobility for the psychophysical well-being of the individual through the good habit of walk 10,000 steps a day.
