UPDATE - FAQ about Summer 2020 at Lignano Sabbiadoro beach

Even on the beach it was necessary to comply with the Covid-19 regulations published by the authorities.
In this regard we received many questions that we will try to answer here below.
Lignano Sabbiadoro beach will be open in 2020?
From 18 May 2020 Lignano Sabbiadoro beach is accessible as provided for by DPCM of 17 May 2020 that defines the rules to manage the beach (point mm) of the decree). The DPCM has been adoptef also by Friuli Venezia Giulia Region with the document named "Ordinanza contingibile e urgente n. 14/PC - Ulteriori misure urgenti in materia di contenimento e gestione dell’emergenza epidemiologica da COVID-2019.”
When will Lignano Sabbiadoro beach reopen?
From 18 May 2020 it is possible to access Lignano Sabbiadoro beach. All the regulations about social distancing and activities to avoid the spread of Covid-19 are still valid.
How will the beach be organized?
The DPCM of 17 May 2020 requires that the minimum space for each umbrella is 12 m2.
Lignano Sabbiadoro Gestioni ensures that in the beach area under its control the space for each umbrella way superior than that established by the DPCM in order to guarantee greater safety for its customers.
Which anti Covid measures will be adopted on the beach?
On the beach will be organized one way mandatory routes to enter and exit the flows and avoid crowds.
The staff willwear safety devices as face masks.
Toilets and beach equipment will be frequently hygenized as specified in the DPCM.

How many people can use the same umbrella pitch?
The Bathing Ordinance no. 25 of 2020 of the Municipality of Lignano Sabbiadoro establishes that on the beaches under concession, an area of at least 5 square metres per person must be guaranteed (excluding children under 12 accompanying their parents) at the umbrella pitch. This means that the number of people who can use a given umbrella pitch depends on the distance they place themselves from one another.
On the beach facilities managed by Lignano Sabbiadoro Gestioni the umbrellas are laid out at a distance such that the surface area available for a single umbrella may vary and be anything between 15 and 22 square metres.
We recommend that you contact the beach office in question directly to find out which rules apply in the specific case in question .
What can customers do to simplify the procedures to enter the beach?
To those willing to rent a sun umbrella we warmly suggest to book online the beach service (here you can find a complete list of Lignano beach offices and a link to their reservation system), we also recommend to pay online, in order to avoid crowds in front of the beach offices.
We ask your cooperation to respect the rules about social distancing as well as the safety rules (for example using the face mask when walking to the sun umbrella, to the toilets or to the beach office desks.
Is it mandatory to use face masks at the beach?
The use of face masks is not mandatory outdoors when the safety distance of 1 mt is respected or while sitting at the restaurant or at the bar. The use of face masks is mandatory indoors, for example in toilets or kiosks.
Which sports can be played on the beach?
It won't be possible to play team sports, for this reason there won't be beach volley, beach tennis to avoid crowds.
Individual sports that are usually played on the beach (es. matkot) or in the water (es. swimming, surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing) can be played respecting social distancing rules.
There will be entertaiment on the beach?
No, no entertainment service will be available on the beach in order to avoid possible crowds. The traditional stages in Sabbiadoro (Beach Village, Family Village, Smile Village, Beach Arena) and in Pineta (Fun Village, Piazza M. d’Olivo) won't be set up this summer.
There will be playgrounds for children?
Yes, the playgrounds on the beach are open. We kindly ask adults to supervise minors so that the rules on their use are respected.
How will the service of beach restaurants, kiosks and bars be managed?
The bars and restaurants on the beach will apply the rules laid down by the Prime Minister's Decree of 17 May 2020 for restaurants that require a minimum distance of 1 m between people and the use of masks when not sitting at the table.
Procedures will be implemented to facilitate the ordering from under the umbrella and relative take away at the kiosks and bars on the beach.
We saw pictures of plaxiglass cubicles on the beach. Could they be installed on Lignano beach?
Absolutely no. It is a nonsense idea that has never been taken into consideration as a possibility nor as an obligation.
There will be free beaches?
Even in summer 2020, the sandy areas that have always been destined for the free beach will be reconfirmed for this use. It is allowed to stay only near areas marked with a stake stuck in the sand. Up to 5 people is allowed to stay nearby the marked area (excluding children under 12 following their parents). Between the beach equipment (sunbeds, deck chairs and towels), when not positioned in the umbrella place, a distance of at least 1.5 m must be guaranteed, derogation is allowed for members of the same family or for persons staying in the same room or housing unit of an accommodation facility or in any case for subjects who are not subject to interpersonal distancing according to the national and regional provisions in force.
Will it be possible to position yourself on the shore with beach towels or other equipment?
It is forbidden to occupy the area of 5 (five) meters from the shoreline with umbrellas, deckchairs, chairs, stools, tents, towels, towels, inflatable equipment, etc., as well as with nautical means, which is intended exclusively for free transit with a ban on staying , with the exception of emergency vehicles.
It is also forbidden to stay, even with deckchairs, chairs, stools, tents, towels, umbrellas, towels and inflatable equipment, in the presence of bathing establishments, even in the area that extends beyond 5 meters from the shoreline to the first row of umbrellas.
Will the beach be fenced?
The physical perimeter of the areas subject to concession or free beach will be possible if needed in order to guarantee the influx of people in compliance with the social distancing and the ban on gathering.
Access and exit gates will be identified from which it will be possible to transit.
In addition, the beach will be closed from 11.00 pm to 5.00 am to protect public health and the integrity of sanitized equipment.
What about the bookings and eventual cancellations of the beach servicea?
Here you are some clarifications about beach umbrella reservations in the beach offices managed by Lignano Sabbiadoro Gestioni SpA, specifically beach offices 1, 1TER, 1 BIS, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 17 and 18 in Sabbiadoro.

Online bookings
The online booking system is working and the availabilities you can see on the website are effective. We suggest to book online through our website since the main office follows reduced opening hours (for this reason we may not be available by phone or it could took us longer to answer your e-mails).
Sun umbrella allocation
The allocation of sun umbrellas that you can see while booking on our website is the usual one: no modifies have been done in the positioning of the sun umbrella (reduction of their number or distancing) since at the moment there are not official guidelines definying how to behave.
We want to reassure all the guests who have already booked the beach service: even if changes in the total number of beach umbrellas - as consequence of an increase in the distance among them - have to be done, all the bookings will be honored.
Cancellations
Cancellations are admitted writing to spiaggia@lignanosabbiadoro.it. The cancelled bookings will not be refunded, rather we will issue vouchers of the same value that you can use in summer 2021 or 2022.
