The magic of Natale d'A...mare is back in Lignano
Natale d'A… mare is back in Lignano Sabbiadoro and, as per tradition, there you will find activities for adults and children. The event will kick off on 8 December 2022 and continue until 8 January 2023: an entire month of Christmas celebrations for Lignano residents and visitors who will be able to enjoy the many attractions designed to enliven the seaside resort during the winter.
During the event – which this year too will take place in Sabbiadoro in an area between Piazza Fontana, Terrazza a Mare and San Giovanni Bosco Park – visitors will find all the constituent elements of the Natale d'A…mare in Lignano, from the Sand Nativity to the Food Village passing through the entertainment area of the Santa Claus Village, enriched with some interesting news!
Sand Nativity
The 19th edition of the Sand Nativity this year has a theme that draws free inspiration from the Theodoric mosaics of the Basilica of Aquileia and intends to hint at the multifarious origins of Christianity in the territories of Aquileia and the upper Adriatic.
A theme of great charm and strong impact, which has translated into a path suspended between history and legend and which has found expression in the competition of different artistic languages united by two common threads: "the sea" (Lignano's main resource) and the "colors of light".
A delicious Christmas at the Food Village
More than 20 food exhibitors will find their place on Lungomare Trieste in the stretch between Terrazza a Mare and San Giovanni Bosco Park: over 200 meters of Village where it will be possible to savor delicacies ranging from sweet to savoury. There will be - just to name a few - sweets, fried fish, grilled meat, specialties of Friulian cuisine and also delicacies from abroad.
Delights to be enjoyed while strolling in true street food style, but not only, in fact in correspondence with the kiosks there will be a covered area of 800 square meters with seats where you can comfortably taste the dishes even on days when the weather is less clement.
For those who want to go shopping (Christmas and beyond) in addition to the commercial offer of the locality, do not miss the special area dedicated to Christmas decorations, scarves, caps and handmade crafts.
A microworld for families, Santa Claus' Village
After the success of the last edition, the magic in San Giovanni Bosco Park is renewed and enriched with the "Santa Claus' Village" which this year will expand further on the area of the former First Aid.
In addition to the Lignano Carrousel horse carousel which is now a confirmed presence in the area, there will be Christmas-themed inflatables and carousels for children, stands with themed sweets and the constant presence of Santa Claus who will wait for the little ones until 24th December to receive the their letters. From the 25th onwards, Santa Claus will still be present to entertain the little ones with lots of fun games.
And do you want to put the thrill of ice skating? In the same area, an ice rink of 300 square meters awaits you! Guaranteed fun!
NEW 2022: the Magic Christmas Tree
Exclusively among the attractions of the Christmas Village in Lignano Sabbiadoro, an incredible novelty: the Magic Christmas Tree, the only Christmas tree in Italy where families can climb and have fun like on a carousel.
The Magic Christmas Tree is a 12-metre high Christmas tree with 8 large decorative balls which, climbing up to 4 meters in height and rotating on themselves, give adults and children who board a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
NEW 2022: the Lignano Express train, free for Christmas
The Lignano Express, the tourist train that allows families to discover the city center during the summer, will guarantee a special free service during the entire duration of the event!
To the delight of adults and children, it will be possible to get on board and travel the ring between Parco San Giovanni Bosco, Viale Tolmezzo, Piazza Fontana, Viale Gorizia and Via Vicenza.
A free service that will connect all the most important areas of the event in a fun way.
Lights to warm hearts
Christmas is light, which is why this year too there will be no shortage of traditional lights installed in the focal points of the town which will help to warm up the atmosphere and give it that traditional Christmas scent and obviously the traditional tree in Piazza Fontana which will be officially lit on 8th December, Feast of the Immaculate Conception, during the inauguration of the event.
